SoNiC SUgAr - 2010 +buried in the depths of writing and arranging the band sees a bit of light at the tunnels end. Two albums seems fitting, seeing they've been hiding so long from their last shows around southeast Wisconsin. Chris B. declares, "three albums would have been ideal, but Jim, Ben and I live in different cities and there still isn't any light-rail available...arrrgh..." We've managed to cobble enough music together to produce 14 songs.(that is; 14 -these aren't your daddy's AM radio -under 3 min. songs)- we have some great listening time in store for our fans.
The work is coming together with one album being produced and engineered by Jon Christopher Hughes at Post Historic in Milwaukee and the other mixed at Sonic Sugar South. We are also now working with guitarist Greg Milo from Burlington, WI- who's adding some brilliant touches to many of the new songs...
Their Electro Rock was born in the late 90's when Jim joined Chris' rock band, SEER- Jim brought the "tools" of beat building and synths to blend with rock drums, bass, and guitar...after putting out their first album in 2003 they spent time shaping a "live" show, but members came and went delaying plans...pushing ahead the band continued writing new songs. Finally they played their first set of live shows after Ben and Jake Baumgart came on board in 2007.
They met JC Hughes in the spring of 2008 and began working on their official debut album. (They had renamed the band Sonic Sugar in 2007). Its 2010 and the Sonic Sugar boys are in the studio(s) bringing things together. They have some new song samples on the music page of this site. Go give them a listen!
